WHAT KIND OF PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU DO?
Primarily, I am a Portrait and Event photographer. I also do professional headshots for people who require them for publicity/professional purposes, and portraits.
DO YOU SHOOT FAMILIES, SENIORS, BABIES, BELLIES OR WEDDINGS?
Yes. We shoot both in studio, and on location. On location shoots may require an extra travel fee.
DO YOU DO BOUDOIR SHOOTS?
Yes. However, we only shoot in a tasteful and elegant way. We aim for classy and nothing less.
I WANT TO BOOK YOU, BUT I HAVE A FEELING THAT YOU’RE GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE. THIS MAKES ME SAD BECAUSE I REALLY WANT YOU TO SHOOT ME!
Our prices are competitively priced. Let me explain why we charge what we charge. First, you’re coming to me because you like my stuff, right? You’re thinking, everyone else looks great in her photos, I bet he can make me look great too! (Why, yes, yes, I can!) But why can I? Well, it’s because I have spent many years perfecting my craft and making sure that I know what I’m doing. There was schooling, there were workshops, there have been 1,000s of hours put in to make sure that when you get in front of my lens it looks as easy as pie. But you know what? Not that easy!
Expertise doesn’t happen overnight. A part of my fee has to do with the experience that I am bringing to the table. If your headshot takes 10 minutes, it’s because I studied and worked hard to figure out how to get it right that quickly.
Then you have to take into consideration such mundane things as “overhead” – the studio, the equipment, etc. Unfortunately, NOT free.
Want me to come to your workplace or home to do headshots, there’s travel, and set-up and break-down. Those all take time and you know what they say…time = money!
Last, but not least. Post-production. What is that, you ask? Well, it’s when i get back to the office and download the images, go through them, back them up and then work my magic on the ones you love best. I’m very flattered when people say, your stuff looks great out of the camera, but “newsflash”, you have not seen any of my images “unretouched”. And the fact that they are in fact “retouched” and you think that they are not is an even bigger compliment, but alas – the retouching. It takes time…and we’ve covered this already: time = money!
As a reference, I spend 15-20 minutes retouching each image. You want 10 images, SURE!! But that’s hours out of my day! And it’s not something that I can do for free.
Finally, and I know you’ve heard this before, but you get what you pay for. If how much you’re spending is much more important to you than the quality of the final product, I can tell you right now, that I’m not the right photographer for your job.
WHAT KIND OF PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT DO YOU HAVE?
I shoot a Canon 5D Mark II digital camera and a variety of lenses. I use professional lights and a slew of softboxes, umbrellas and reflectors.
HOW DO YOU DELIVER PROOFS?
I can post digital proofs to my website or email you links to your own photo gallery. Whatever you prefer.
CAN YOU MAKE ME PRINTS?
If you’d like to order prints, it’s easy as pie! Once the link is sent, you can just click on the pictures that you’d like prints for. Pay online, and your prints are on the way.
DO I GET ALL THE FILES FROM THE SHOOT OR JUST MY EDITED SELECTION?
I release only the edited files.
DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO?
Yes, I do. I can email you with directions as needed.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU BOOK SHOOTS?
We book sessions about 4 weeks in advance. In some cases we do book in shorter time frames, but depending on how close it is, you may be charged a rush fee.
CAN I BRING MY OWN HAIR STYLIST OR MAKE-UP ARTIST OR DO MY OWN MAKE-UP?
You can have someone else do your make-up and/or hair. However, we cannot accept any responsibility for the way the hair and make-up comes out in the pictures. Light or natural looking make-up is always best.
We prefer that you get your hair and make-up done before showing up for your session, otherwise you will be cutting into your photo shoot time.
